Who is Take Part for?

Take Part can support any individual who wants to develop the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to get involved in social action and influence the decisions that affect their lives.

A wide range of Take Part projects have successfully supported people with no previous experience of engaging in public life, including many from groups which often face barriers to taking part, including people with disabilities, residents from black, minority ethnic and refugee communities, women tenants, young people, elders, and many more.

Take Part has also provided effective learning opportunities for people already experienced in community involvement, including community leaders and local councillors.

The Take Part approach to supporting active citizenship has been successfully adopted by a wide range of organisations and groups across sectors, including local authorities, libraries, police services, health and social care services, adult learning centres, universities, voluntary and community organisations, volunteering support organisations and more.
